This post is for Tuesday--our consulate day.  Woke up early and had an 8 am appointment at the U.S. Consulate here in Guangzhou.  Security was tight and everyone was serious about the process.  The adoptive parents took oaths on behalf of their adopted children, soon to be granted U.S. Citizenship.  Paperwork was reviewed with the goal of receiving PH's visa for the US on Wednesday before we take an evening train to Hong Kong, the site of our international flight.

You can see a couple of shots from our day--but not at the consulate--no photography allowed there.  We took a dragon boat cruise on the Pearl River in the evening--very beautiful and relaxing.  Ate Papa John's pizza on the way--a big hit with everyone.  Our guide told us a story about how the river got its name--a businessman was making away with a huge and beautiful pearl but was so excited about it on the deck of his boat that he dropped it in the water where it turned to stone.  There used to be a large round rock in the middle of the river but it had to be removed because of the danger it posed to boats.
